HNU CSEE ENTERS ESI GLOBAL
TOP 1% FOR THE FIRST TIME/

Thomson Reuters announced its Essential Science Indicators (ESI) on May 26th 2016. The index is about citations of global research institutions in the web of science databases such as SCI and SSCI on papers published. The statistical analysis period is from January 1st, 2006 to February 29th, 2016. This time, the computer science focus has a total of 377 research institutions which entered the ESI global top 1%. A total of 26 colleges from China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) enters ESI global top 1%. HNU CSEE for the first time entered the ESI top 1% ranking, which is a major breakthrough for computer science discipline construction.

* ESI is based on Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI) data. It use statistical analysis to measure citations which includes more than 11000 academic journals and more than 10 million articles and reviews. Thomson Reuters ranks 22 subjects by total cited frequency. The list ranked the top 1% numbers published (including the citation number, citation frequency, average citation frequency, top cited paper number) for reference. ESI is one of the most important worldwide commonly used research evaluation indicators of for colleges, universities, and academic institutions.
